Hello,

I want to limit the reconnection upto 5 attempts. How can I do that.
Used ReconnectInterval=30 which keeps logging after every 30 Sec. But want only 5 attempts. I have used Session StateListener so its always trying to reconnect.

Hi,

there is no way to do this by configuration. But what should happen after these 5 attempts? Will the
program shutdown or how will it know when it should try to reconnect again?

Cheers,
Chris.

Hi,

and when are you allowed to try again?
I think it will be hard to differentiate between failed attempts to open a socket connection and failed FIX Logons. But you could simply count the number of Logons and then stop your Initiator. You could also try to implement the interface ApplicationExtended and use the canLogon() callback. If you return "false" there, the Initiator FIX session will not logon anymore.
Still the question remains what happens after 5 failed attempts.

Cheers,
Chris.
