Issue with JDBC Session state & Logging

Hello all,

We are using QuickfixJ version 1.5.3 and we use JDBC storage (SQL Server 2012) for session state & Logging. We also use Proxool for connection pooling.

We recently had a database outage that lasted more than 45 minutes and we noticed all our FIX sessions were logged off.

What is the default behaviour of all FIX sessions managed by a QuickFixJ engine when it loses connectivity with the database? Does quickfixJ logoff all the sessions once it loses database connectivity?

Any help with this issue would be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Rajesh

Hi,

aren't there any error messages in your log file which could show what happened? In my opinion it
makes sense to log out the FIX session when the access to the session or message store is not
possible. But I don't know what the default behaviour is since I use file logging almost all of the
time.

Regards,
Chris.
